Police seek public help to locate missing 17-year-old

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) is seek­ing the pub­lic’s ur­gent as­sis­tance in lo­cat­ing 17-year-old Sha­nia Sa­roop of San Juan.

Sa­roop was last seen on Sep­tem­ber 15 and was re­port­ed miss­ing at the San Juan Po­lice Sta­tion lat­er that day.

Po­lice de­scribed the teenag­er as be­ing of mixed de­scent, ap­prox­i­mate­ly five feet, two inch­es tall and light brown in com­plex­ion.

At the time she was last seen, Sa­roop was wear­ing a black and white plaid skirt, white sneak­ers and socks.

The TTPS is ap­peal­ing to any­one who may have seen Sa­roop or has in­for­ma­tion that could as­sist in de­ter­min­ing her where­abouts to con­tact the po­lice.

In­for­ma­tion can be pro­vid­ed to the San Juan Po­lice Sta­tion at 674-0100, or through the po­lice hot­lines 800-TIPS, 555, 999 or 911.

Mem­bers of the pub­lic can al­so con­tact any po­lice sta­tion with in­for­ma­tion.

The TTPS is urg­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion to come for­ward as soon as pos­si­ble to as­sist with the search for the miss­ing teenag­er.
