Member of Parliament for Mayaro Nicholas Morris partnered with the Eastern Regional Health Authority and Sewa TT to host a community health fair at Biche Secondary School on Sunday.
The event offered free general health screenings, HIV voluntary counselling and testing, health education, dental services and vision screening for residents.
Morris said the initiative was aimed at improving access to public healthcare services for people in rural communities.
According to the release, the health fair is the third organised by Morris, following similar events in Rio Claro and Mayaro. It follows a multi-agency government outreach programme held at the Mayaro Civic Centre in May.
