A 22-year-old man was gunned down in front of his home in Princes Town last night.

Jamal Rogers, a welder/fabricator of Manahambre Branch Road, was shot multiple times and died at the Princes Town Health Facility.

Shortly before 10 pm, Rogers was at home with a relative when he went outside to change a bulb near the front door. Several explosions rang out, and Rogers ran into the house before collapsing on the floor.

A white Nissan Tiida was seen speeding away from the crime scene.

The relative was lying in a hammock at the back of the house when he heard the explosions. When he checked, he found Rogers bleeding on the ground. He raised an alarm, and a passing vehicle took them to the health facility, where Rogers died around 10.08 pm while undergoing treatment.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder, chest, and left leg.

Police recovered 20 spent shells at the scene.

This is the second murder in the area in two weeks.
