Health Ministry mourns killing of driver Masud Prosper

The Min­istry of Health has ex­tend­ed con­do­lences to the fam­i­ly of Ma­sud Pros­per, a dri­ver em­ployed at the Min­istry, who was killed yes­ter­day af­ter­noon af­ter be­ing shot at the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah (QPS).

In a state­ment, the Min­istry said its man­age­ment and staff were deeply sad­dened by his death.

Po­lice said Pros­per, 49, was shot mul­ti­ple times at around 5.30 pm while sit­ting in a black Lancer car parked in the area in front of the food court.

Rel­a­tives said he had gone to pick up his nine-year-old son from foot­ball prac­tice when the shoot­ing oc­curred. The boy re­port­ed­ly wit­nessed his fa­ther’s killing.

The Min­istry said it will en­gage the ser­vices of the Em­ploy­ee As­sis­tance Pro­gramme to pro­vide sup­port to staff af­fect­ed by the in­ci­dent, adding that its prayers re­main with Pros­per’s fam­i­ly and friends.
