The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Trinidad and Tobago has announced the opening of registration for advanced-level Spanish language courses, as the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation (IVCC) celebrates 63 years of service in the country.
In a media release, the Embassy said the new courses reflect its continued commitment to education, cultural exchange and the development of citizens through language learning.
Established in 1963, the IVCC has played a longstanding role in strengthening ties between Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago through cultural and educational initiatives.
Over the decades, the institute has helped train thousands of nationals in Spanish and contributed to sectors such as education, trade and diplomacy.
Venezuelan Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Álvaro Sánchez Cordero, said the institute has served as more than a language school.
“For 63 years, the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation has been more than a language school; it has been a home for cultural dialogue and a partner in national development,” he said.
He added that the anniversary reflects the Embassy’s ongoing role beyond diplomacy.
“As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we reaffirm that the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela remains not only a diplomatic mission but also a vibrant cultural institution, fully engaged in the life and future of beautiful Trinidad and Tobago.”
According to the release, the advanced courses target professionals, university students, educators and heritage speakers seeking to improve fluency and deepen their understanding of complex grammar and cultural material.
The programme will include advanced conversation and debate, technical and professional vocabulary and reading comprehension using authentic texts such as journalism, literature and legal documents.
It will also focus on cross-cultural communication.
Classes will be delivered by native-speaking instructors, with limited spaces to allow for personalised instruction.
The Embassy and the IVCC have invited interested persons to register early, noting that the institute continues to promote understanding and cooperation between both nations through language and culture.
