Woman held with cocaine at airport

A woman who at­tempt­ed to trav­el to St Kitts on a Caribbean Air­lines flight was ar­rest­ed af­ter of­fi­cers found co­caine and cash on her dur­ing a se­cu­ri­ty check at Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port.

Re­ports in­di­cate that at 10:55 am on Mon­day (April 6, 2026), a Woman Es­tate Con­sta­ble was op­er­at­ing a scan­ner at a se­cu­ri­ty check­point when a fe­male Trinida­di­an na­tion­al from Care­nage passed through the ma­chine.

The of­fi­cer ob­served anom­alies dur­ing the scan and car­ried out a phys­i­cal search of the pas­sen­ger in a search room.

Dur­ing the search, the of­fi­cer al­leged­ly found a pink bal­loon strapped around the woman’s waist con­tain­ing 17 pel­lets, with a to­tal of 281.5 grammes of co­caine.

Of­fi­cers al­so searched the woman’s car­ry-on bag and found US$5,189 and TT$30.

Po­lice ar­rest­ed the woman in con­nec­tion with the finds.
