Curepe driver dies after heart attack crash

A 41-year-old Curepe man died af­ter suf­fer­ing a heart at­tack and crash­ing in­to the back of a car while dri­ving on Sun­day night.

Po­lice re­port­ed that Randy Siew of Al­ice Street, Curepe was pro­nounced dead at the scene by the Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer. Po­lice said around 8:15 pm, Siew was head­ing north along the Uri­ah But­ler High­way near Ca­roni when he suf­fered a my­ocar­dial in­farc­tion while dri­ving a Suzu­ki Grand Vi­tara and slammed in­to the back of a Nis­san Syl­phy dri­ven by Him­lal Samdeo, 40, of Clax­ton Bay.

Siew, who had two el­der­ly pas­sen­gers in his ve­hi­cle, veered off the road af­ter the crash, with both pas­sen­gers, aged 65 and 70, sus­tain­ing in­juries and tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, while Samdeo did not re­port any in­juries.
