Homeland Security Minister has ordered the detention of 24 more people believed to be involved in gang activities, including a police officer held for allegedly tipping off criminals.
According to the Preventive Detention Orders (PDOs) gazetted yesterday and signed on Tuesday, 17 were for gang members, two for gang leaders and five others were for people believed to be assisting gangs.
Among those detained was police officer Stefon Khan, who was held for utilising his position to provide access to policing facilities to a member of a gang.
He is the second police officer held since the State of Emergency was declared on March 3.
Pramanan Rajpath, who is attached to the Central Division, was also among 11 people ordered detained under the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026, on March 16. Rajpath was identified for supplying operational intelligence to organised crime groups, creating a risk of imminent attacks between rival gangs using high-powered firearms in public spaces.
In the latest PDOs, Brandon Sooknanan was also ordered detained for his involvement in kidnappings.
Keron Lewis, Rakesh Narine and Brandon Chitlal were also listed as being involved in gang activity, including storing, transporting and distributing guns, drugs and ammunition for gangs.
The alleged gang leaders were identified as Brandon “Dover” Dickson, who leads a faction of the Seven Gang, and Seon “Parker” Lewis, leader of a faction of an unnamed gang.
O’ Marley Nurse and Anton Oliviere (Seven Gang); Shaquille Nurse and Trevor Barton (Nine Gang); Sheldon Jemmot, Jamol Gillard, Rondelle Pierre, Donovan Hinds, Deon Gillard (Six Gang) and Jovon Jackson (Bayshore 3 Gang) were also ordered detained as members of gangs.
Members of unnamed gangs were identified as Giustin Lopez, Angel Fuentes, Jordan Fraser, Pablo Rivas, Antonio Mendoza, Nikeem Baksh and Tyrese Williams.
