Three suspects are in police custody following investigations into larceny and robbery reports in the South Western Division this week.
Police said in one incident, officers of the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of robbery at a supermarket in the Fyzabad district on Tuesday. Two male suspects were arrested with assistance from officers of the Southern Division Emergency Response Patrol and Task Force.
Officers conducted searches and seized one magazine with ten rounds of ammunition, along with cash, cellular phones and watches from the suspects. Further enquiries led to the discovery of one pistol and additional quantities of cash, cellular phones and watches.
Police also recovered a Nissan motor vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery. The vehicle was found in the Palmiste Park district.
In a separate incident in the Penal district, officers arrested one man in connection with the larceny of sheep from a male victim.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle was stopped by the owner of the animals around 11:45 a.m. on Monday 23 March 2026. Officers were contacted and the suspect was held.
All three suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
