Moruga man held with cannabis in SWD exercise

One man was ar­rest­ed and a quan­ti­ty of cannabis seized dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the South West­ern Di­vi­sion yes­ter­day.

Of­fi­cers of the SWD Emer­gency Re­sponse Pa­trol were con­duct­ing traf­fic op­er­a­tions around 11:50 am on Sat­ur­day 21 March 2026 in the Pe­nal dis­trict when they stopped and searched a red Toy­ota Corol­la with a lone male oc­cu­pant.

The search led to the dis­cov­ery of sev­en pack­ets of cannabis weigh­ing a to­tal of 1.82 kilo­grammes.

The 41-year-old sus­pect, of Moru­ga, was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.
