Man shot and killed outside Bar in Sangre Grande

A man was shot and killed out­side a bar in San­gre Grande this morn­ing.

The man has been iden­ti­fied as Shaquille Layne of North East­ern Set­tle­ment, San­gre Grande.

Re­ports in­di­cate that around 2:40 am, Layne was lim­ing at a bar in Boodooville when he had an al­ter­ca­tion with an­oth­er man and struck him on the head with a bot­tle. He was sub­se­quent­ly put out of the bar but re­mained out­side.

The oth­er man left the bar and re­turned armed with a gun, open­ing fire on Layne. He was shot about the body and died at the scene.

Po­lice in San­gre Grande were in­formed and re­spond­ed. Of­fi­cers of the Arou­ca Homi­cide Bu­reau, Re­gion 2, al­so at­tend­ed.

The body was viewed by a Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer and re­moved to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal mor­tu­ary, pend­ing a post-mortem at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre on Mon­day.
