The National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC) reports that on Friday an Embraer 145 aircraft operated by the company IBC, veered off the runway as it landed at Antoine-Simon Airport in the town Les Cayes, to the west of here.

The aircraft was carrying five passengers and crew members.

According to OFNAC, the aircraft, arriving from Miami attempted to land during heavy rains, at 2:36 p.m. (local time).

During a second landing attempt at 2:40 p.m., the aircraft veered off the runway, appearing to experience braking difficulties and coming to a stop on the northeast shoulder.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) were immediately deployed to the scene to secure the perimeter.

Technical teams from OFNAC and the National Airport Authority (AAN), in coordination with a team from IBC (International Business Corporation), went to the scene to conduct a technical assessment of the incident.

Based on this, appropriate measures will be implemented to ensure the safe and orderly resumption of airport operations.
