Officers of the Port of Spain Division and the Region I Homicide Bureau of Investigations were kept busy late into Sunday night as they investigated three separate murders, hours apart in Port of Spain and Laventille.
In the most recent incident, police said 35-year-old Prince Moses walked outside his Picton Road, Laventille, home around 9:40 pm to smoke.
A relative who was inside reported hearing gunshots shortly after and on checking saw Moses bleeding on the ground.
Police were called in and took Moses to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead at 10:05 pm.
A quantity of spent 9-millimetre shells were found at the scene.
Hours earlier at around 6:10 pm, police on patrol were dispatched to Joe Sam Hill, Laventille, where gunshots were reported being heard.
On arrival, police found the body of 29-year-old Shaquille Woods.
A district medical officer was called in who declared Woods dead at the scene.
Investigators found a single spent shell of 5.56 ammunition at the scene.
Two hours earlier at about 4:30 pm, Romello Edinborough, 29, was pulled from a house on McShine Lands, where he was conducting renovations, when he was approached by six men in dark coloured clothing.
Two of the attackers had guns and pulled him to the front of the house before shooting him several times.
Police said the suspects were seen running towards Desperlie Crescent.
Passers-by took Edinborough to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead at 4:39 pm.
Investigations are ongoing into all these matters.
