The victim struggled with the bandit who overpowered him and ran away with the bag and items.

Minutes later, around 6:52 pm, police said an Arima man was waiting for a taxi at the corner of Charlotte Street and Independence Square when he felt someone tugging at his gold chain from behind.

The man turned to confront his attacker and noticed two men trying to grab his chain.

During the scuffle the chain fell to the ground. One of the men picked it up and ran away as the other bandit followed.
