Police are investigating two separate reports of robbery with violence less than an hour apart in Port of Spain on Sunday afternoon.
In the first incident, police said a Tacarigua man was waiting for a taxi on the corner of Woodford Street and Tragarete Road, around 6:17 pm when he was confronted by a man who snatched his side bag. The bag contained $225 in cash, house keys, chargers and a radio.
The victim struggled with the bandit who overpowered him and ran away with the bag and items.
Minutes later, around 6:52 pm, police said an Arima man was waiting for a taxi at the corner of Charlotte Street and Independence Square when he felt someone tugging at his gold chain from behind.
The man turned to confront his attacker and noticed two men trying to grab his chain.
During the scuffle the chain fell to the ground. One of the men picked it up and ran away as the other bandit followed.
Port of Spain police are investigating both robberies.
