Officers of the St Joseph Police Station seized a homemade shotgun and ammunition during an anti-crime exercise in the district on March 14.
Police said officers acted on intelligence information and went to an open area along Farm Road where a search was carried out.
During the exercise, officers found one homemade shotgun and one round of 12-gauge ammunition. The items were seized.
Police said investigations into the matter are ongoing. No arrests were reported up to the time of the release.
The exercise was led by ACP Singh and Senior Superintendent Gift.
Superintendent and ASP Barath Jaikaran were also involved in the operation.
Inspector White and Sergeant Ramsumair coordinated the exercise.
Corporal Dhill supervised officers during the operation.
Officers attached to the St Joseph Charge Room also took part in the exercise, including PCs Roberts and Lewis.
