Homemade shotgun seized in St Joseph

Of­fi­cers of the St Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion seized a home­made shot­gun and am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the dis­trict on March 14.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers act­ed on in­tel­li­gence in­for­ma­tion and went to an open area along Farm Road where a search was car­ried out.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers found one home­made shot­gun and one round of 12-gauge am­mu­ni­tion. The items were seized.

Po­lice said in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the mat­ter are on­go­ing. No ar­rests were re­port­ed up to the time of the re­lease.

The ex­er­cise was led by ACP Singh and Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Gift.

Su­per­in­ten­dent and ASP Barath Jaikaran were al­so in­volved in the op­er­a­tion.

In­spec­tor White and Sergeant Ram­sumair co­or­di­nat­ed the ex­er­cise.

Cor­po­ral Dhill su­per­vised of­fi­cers dur­ing the op­er­a­tion.

Of­fi­cers at­tached to the St Joseph Charge Room al­so took part in the ex­er­cise, in­clud­ing PCs Roberts and Lewis.
