Businessman Danny Guerra shot dead in Sangre Grande

Busi­ness­man and al­leged il­le­gal quar­ry op­er­a­tor Dan­ny Guer­ra was shot dead dur­ing an at­tack on Oropouche Road in San­gre Grande a short while ago.

Po­lice sources said Guer­ra was at one of his of­fices when four masked gun­men opened fire.

The at­tack oc­curred around 5.30 pm.

Of­fi­cers from the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice, in­clud­ing per­son­nel from the East­ern Di­vi­sion and the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion, re­spond­ed and are cur­rent­ly pro­cess­ing the scene.

Fur­ther de­tails about the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the killing re­main un­clear. Po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.

Guer­ra had pre­vi­ous­ly come un­der scruti­ny dur­ing the pre­vi­ous State of Emer­gency. In No­vem­ber 2025, he was ar­rest­ed un­der emer­gency pow­ers by the Spe­cial In­ves­ti­ga­tions Unit on al­le­ga­tions that he led an or­gan­ised crime group in­volved in arms traf­fick­ing, mon­ey laun­der­ing and il­le­gal quar­ry­ing.
