Car and US$5,000 stolen in St Clair

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a ve­hi­cle and US cur­ren­cy in St Clair on Wednes­day night.

Po­lice said a man parked his sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da on Broome Street at about 8 pm and left. When he re­turned around 12.05 am, he no­ticed the car was miss­ing.

In­side the ve­hi­cle was US $5,000.

A re­port was made, and of­fi­cers of the Port of Spain CID and the Emer­gency Re­sponse Pa­trol lat­er found the ve­hi­cle on Sec­ond Av­enue, Cas­cade.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the man’s cash, bank cards and dri­ving per­mit were miss­ing from the ve­hi­cle.
