Man killed crossing Beetham Highway

Po­lice are try­ing to iden­ti­fy a man who was struck and killed while cross­ing the Beetham High­way on Thurs­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the dri­ver of a Nis­san Note was trav­el­ling east along the high­way near Bhag­wans­ingh’s Hard­ware around 7.45 am when the ve­hi­cle col­lid­ed with the man as he crossed the road­way.

The man died at the scene.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said he had no iden­ti­fi­ca­tion on him.

Of­fi­cers from the Besson Street Po­lice Sta­tion, along with Tran­sit Po­lice and oth­er re­spond­ing units, vis­it­ed the scene as in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tin­ue.
