CPO maintains 5% offer with COLA for police

Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer Com­man­der Dr Daryl Din­di­al on Mon­day re­con­vened talks with the Ex­ec­u­tive of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice So­cial and Wel­fare As­so­ci­a­tion on mat­ters af­fect­ing mem­bers of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice.

The meet­ing took place at the of­fices of the Per­son­nel De­part­ment.

Dur­ing the meet­ing, ref­er­ence was made to the last en­gage­ment be­tween the par­ties on De­cem­ber 9, 2025.

At that meet­ing, the As­so­ci­a­tion was ad­vised by the Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer to sub­mit a for­mal re­sponse to the five per cent salary of­fer dat­ed April 11, 2025 for the 2020–2022 bar­gain­ing pe­ri­od.

The mat­ter formed part of dis­cus­sions at Mon­day’s meet­ing as both par­ties con­tin­ued di­a­logue on salary ne­go­ti­a­tions.

The As­so­ci­a­tion did not ac­cept the of­fer dur­ing the meet­ing.

How­ev­er, the As­so­ci­a­tion said a writ­ten re­sponse will be sub­mit­ted to the Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer.

Oth­er mat­ters dis­cussed in­clud­ed the Job Eval­u­a­tion Ex­er­cise, the Group Health Plan, pen­sion re­form and mat­ters con­cern­ing the Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice.

The As­so­ci­a­tion not­ed the mat­ters raised and said it will con­tin­ue en­gage­ment with the Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer on is­sues af­fect­ing its mem­ber­ship.

The As­so­ci­a­tion al­so said it will con­sult with its Ex­ec­u­tive and mem­ber­ship as dis­cus­sions con­tin­ue.

Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer Com­man­der Dr Daryl Din­di­al thanked Pres­i­dent Ish­mael Pitt and the Ex­ec­u­tive of the As­so­ci­a­tion for their en­gage­ment dur­ing the meet­ing.

Com­man­der Din­di­al al­so said the Per­son­nel De­part­ment will con­tin­ue di­a­logue on mat­ters af­fect­ing po­lice of­fi­cers.
