A woman is scheduled to appear before a Master of the High Court next Monday (March 9, 2026), following a charge of Larceny related to an online vehicle sale.

The accused, Chinara Collingwood, was formally charged on March 3, with larceny of $6,000. The charge follows investigations by officers of the Fraud Squad, Eastern Division.

She was granted bail of $30,000 with one surety.

Investigations began after a report filed on September 2, 2024, by a male victim. The victim stated that he responded to an online advertisement for a white Nissan Wingroad valued at $50,000. The advertisement required a $6,000 down payment with the balance payable in instalments.

The victim reported depositing $6,000 into a local bank account. The vehicle was not delivered and attempts to recover the payment were unsuccessful.

Officers of the Fraud Squad conducted enquiries, and on March 3, 2026, executed a search warrant at a residence in Sangre Grande.

Chinara Collingwood was arrested and charged following consultations with senior officers.

The matter will continue in the High Court on the scheduled date, and authorities have stated that investigations remain ongoing.

The Police Service is remining the public to exercise caution when conducting online transactions and to verify the legitimacy of sellers before making advance payments.
