Four people were arrested during an intelligence-led exercise conducted by officers of the Northern Division on Wednesday.
The exercise took place between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and involved officers attached to the Arima Criminal Investigations Department, Arima Charge Room and the Arima Intelligence/Ops Unit. Officers of the Northern Division North Task Force also participated.
Police said the operation targeted locations in La Horquetta, Arima and Dinsley Village, Tacarigua. During the exercise, officers went to addresses in the Unity Ville district, Arima, where four male suspects were arrested in connection with investigations into house breaking and larceny offences within the Arima District.
The exercise was spearheaded by senior divisional officers and coordinated by supervisory personnel of the Arima Criminal Investigations Department.
Police confirmed that the four suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. Charges are expected to be laid pending legal advice.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service stated that the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to address reports of house breaking and larceny in communities across the division.
The Police Service said it will continue intelligence-led exercises in targeted areas. Officers are expected to conduct further operations as investigations progress.
Police advised members of the public to report suspicious activity and cooperate with ongoing investigations.
