One arrested and cannabis seized

One man was ar­rest­ed and quan­ti­ties of cannabis seized dur­ing an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es in the Cen­tral and North­ern Di­vi­sions on Fri­day.

In the first ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force act­ed on in­tel­li­gence and went to the Mt Hope dis­trict be­tween 10 am and 2 pm on Feb­ru­ary 20. A 25-year-old San Juan man was ar­rest­ed af­ter of­fi­cers found him in pos­ses­sion of 1.02 kilo­grammes of mar­i­jua­na.

The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Bhag­wan­deen, Supt Glodon, ASP Reyes and In­sp Joseph.

In a sep­a­rate ex­er­cise, Area North Task Force of­fi­cers car­ried out op­er­a­tions in the North­ern Di­vi­sion be­tween 2 pm and 6.30 pm. Of­fi­cers went to Brazil Vil­lage where they found 15 pack­ages con­tain­ing a to­tal of 7.9 kilo­grammes of cannabis in­side a pan­el van.
