A Police Constable attached to the Sangre Grande Police Station is warded at hospital following an incident at the station on Friday, according to the T&T Police Service.
Reports indicate the officer may have fallen from a height on the eastern side of the station compound onto a marked police vehicle around 4.30 pm on February 20.
The officer sustained head and facial injuries during the incident.
He was taken to the Sangre Grande General Hospital for treatment and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he remains warded in a critical condition.
Police said inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
The identity of the officer has not been released.
