A 51-year-old Arouca man was killed on Wednesday morning after a truck lost control and slammed into a vehicle he was driving.
Police reported that Nigel Cain of Bon Air West was in a Mitsubishi Sportero along the Eastern Main Road around 10 am when a 10-wheeler truck slammed into him.
Police said the driver of the 50-year-old Sangre Grande truck driver, reported that while heading east along the main road, his braking system “locked” and he lost control of the truck and crashed into the Sportero.
Cain was declared dead at the scene while the truck driver and a passenger in Cain’s van were taken to the Sangre Grander and Arima Hospitals respectively and remained warded in a stable condition.
