Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar confirmed that all tyres have been removed from an illegal dump site at Forress Park Trace, Claxton Bay, and said the tyre shop owner responsible will face fines from litter wardens for littering.

The announcement follows her tweet last week, which included a video showing three men removing tyres from a white panel van and dumping them on the ground. Persad-Bissessar urged those responsible to return to the area and pick up the tyres.

She said the shop owner has also been instructed to clean the property and thanked the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service for “serving the decent, law-abiding citizens of Forress Park Trace with pride and professionalism.”

The Prime Minister called on the public to take pride in their communities and the country, stop illegal dumping, clean up after themselves, and help keep Trinidad and Tobago clean and respected.
