Anti-crime operations in the Northern and Western Divisions yesterday resulted in the arrest of three persons and the seizure of firearms, ammunition, and cannabis.
In the Northern Division, officers attached to the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF), San Raphael, conducted a House Search and Roving Road Block Operation between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. south of the Division. During the exercise, a house at Runway Drive, Mausica, was searched under the Emergency Powers Regulations 2025. A search led to the seizure of one air rifle with scope, for which no permit was produced, and approximately 145 grams of cannabis. The occupant, a 39-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the finds.
The operation was coordinated by W/Senior Superintendent Maynard-Wilson, Superintendent McKenzie, and Assistant Superintendent Ablacksingh, and spearheaded by Inspector Gadar and Acting Sergeant Foster under the supervision of Acting Corporal Browne.
Meanwhile, in the Western Division, officers attached to the Western Division Gang and Intelligence Unit (WDGIU) conducted Operation Festive Shield Carnival between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at an apartment at Chaconia Crescent, Four Roads, Diego Martin. Officers seized a silver and black pistol loaded with eleven rounds of 9mm ammunition. A 23-year-old man and his wife were taken to the West End Police Station pending further enquiries.
The exercise was sanctioned by Senior Superintendent Williams and spearheaded by W/Ag. Assistant Superintendent Aguilleria and Inspector Grant, coordinated and supervised by Corporal Khan and Acting Corporal Joseph.
