Three arrested; firearms and drugs seized

An­ti-crime op­er­a­tions in the North­ern and West­ern Di­vi­sions yes­ter­day re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of three per­sons and the seizure of firearms, am­mu­ni­tion, and cannabis.

In the North­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers at­tached to the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (NDTF), San Raphael, con­duct­ed a House Search and Rov­ing Road Block Op­er­a­tion be­tween 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. south of the Di­vi­sion. Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, a house at Run­way Dri­ve, Mau­si­ca, was searched un­der the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tions 2025. A search led to the seizure of one air ri­fle with scope, for which no per­mit was pro­duced, and ap­prox­i­mate­ly 145 grams of cannabis. The oc­cu­pant, a 39-year-old man, was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the finds.

The op­er­a­tion was co­or­di­nat­ed by W/Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent May­nard-Wil­son, Su­per­in­ten­dent McKen­zie, and As­sis­tant Su­per­in­ten­dent Ablacks­ingh, and spear­head­ed by In­spec­tor Gadar and Act­ing Sergeant Fos­ter un­der the su­per­vi­sion of Act­ing Cor­po­ral Browne.

Mean­while, in the West­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers at­tached to the West­ern Di­vi­sion Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit (WDG­IU) con­duct­ed Op­er­a­tion Fes­tive Shield Car­ni­val be­tween 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at an apart­ment at Cha­co­nia Cres­cent, Four Roads, Diego Mar­tin. Of­fi­cers seized a sil­ver and black pis­tol loaded with eleven rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion. A 23-year-old man and his wife were tak­en to the West End Po­lice Sta­tion pend­ing fur­ther en­quiries.
