Four men before court on house breaking charges

Four men have ap­peared be­fore High Court Mas­ters on charges of house break­ing and lar­ce­ny aris­ing from re­ports made with­in the last 48 hours.

In Port of Spain, Ja­mal Williams, 20, ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court charged with house break­ing and lar­ce­ny. Williams plead­ed not guilty. Bail with sure­ty was set at $65,000. The charge arose from a re­port made on Jan­u­ary 3 con­cern­ing a res­i­dence in Ocean Park, Care­nage. The com­plainant re­turned home and found a win­dow bro­ken. Williams was ar­rest­ed on Jan­u­ary 9 and charged.

The court or­dered Williams to ob­serve a cur­few from 8.00 pm to 5.00 am and to re­port to the Besson Street Po­lice Sta­tion. The mat­ter was trans­ferred to the Port of Spain Mag­is­trates’ Court and is list­ed for hear­ing on 12 Feb­ru­ary 2026.

In To­ba­go, Javon Ed­wards, 18, and Sam­son Lei­th, 21, ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Shabaana Shah charged with House Break­ing and Lar­ce­ny. Both plead­ed not guilty. Bail with sure­ty was set at $40,000 for Ed­wards and $45,000 for Lei­th. The charges re­late to an in­ci­dent on Jan­u­ary 8 dur­ing a po­lice pa­trol in Sig­nal Hill.

An­tho­ny Ed­wards, 26, ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Shabaana Shah charged with House Break­ing and Lar­ce­ny in re­la­tion to a re­port made on 5 Jan­u­ary 2026 to the Scar­bor­ough Po­lice. He plead­ed not guilty and was grant­ed bail with sure­ty in the sum of $85,000. The court or­dered him to re­main 100 feet from the vir­tu­al com­plainant and 200 feet from the res­i­dence.
