Six arrested, cocaine seized in Princes Town

Six peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and quan­ti­ties of co­caine were seized dur­ing an An­ti-Crime Ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Princes Town Po­lice Dis­trict on Tues­day.

The ex­er­cise was car­ried out un­der the South­ern Di­vi­sion An­ti-Crime Ini­tia­tive be­tween 6.00 am and 4.00 pm and tar­get­ed rob­bery, lar­ce­ny and nar­cotics of­fences with­in the dis­trict.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers at­tached to the Princes Town Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment con­duct­ed re­con­nais­sance and act­ed on in­for­ma­tion gath­ered dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, which re­sult­ed in sev­er­al ar­rests.

A 35-year-old man of Ramd­hanie Road, In­di­an Walk, was ar­rest­ed for house break­ing and lar­ce­ny.

A 17-year-old male of St Croix Road, Princes Town, was ar­rest­ed for rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion.

A 19-year-old man of Rail­way Road, Princes Town, was ar­rest­ed for rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion.

A 36-year-old man of Jules Av­enue, Princes Town, was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing. Po­lice said the co­caine seized weighed 29 grams.

A 43-year-old man of Pleas­ant’s Park, Clax­ton Bay, was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of co­caine. The co­caine seized weighed two grams.

A 23-year-old man of Jules Av­enue, Princes Town, was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of co­caine. The co­caine seized weighed two grams.

Po­lice said the ex­er­cise formed part of ef­forts un­der the South­ern Di­vi­sion to ad­dress crim­i­nal of­fences in the Princes Town Po­lice Dis­trict. In­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the mat­ters are con­tin­u­ing there.

Po­lice said all six sus­pects were held for ques­tion­ing and will be dealt with ac­cord­ing to law fol­low­ing ad­vice from the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions as re­quired.
