A father was alerted to intruders inside his Penal home by the screams of his daughter during a violent home invasion on Tuesday night.
Police said that around 9.30 pm the man locked his house on Rochard Road and went to bed. Just before 11 pm, he was awakened by his daughter’s screams and saw four masked men armed with cutlasses inside the living room.
The suspects demanded cash and jewellery and tied up the father, his daughter and four other relatives. They ransacked the house, stealing $15,000, cellphones and jewellery, before escaping in the father’s white Nissan Wingroad.
Barrackpore police are investigating.
