A 78-year-old Princes Town pensioner was attacked by bandits, tied up and robbed in her home shortly after midday on Tuesday.

The victim told police that around 12:10 pm she was sitting in her gallery on the upper floor of her home at 5th Company Moruga Road when she saw two masked men quickly walking up her staircase. One of them was holding a gun. She got up to run but was accosted by the suspects and they began struggling. She was overpowered and taken into the house where her hands, feet and mouth were bound with duct tape. She was forced to lie on the ground.

A third suspect remained in the gallery while the other two ransacked the house and stole $2400 and three gold rings. They escaped through some nearby bushes.
