Two homes, including WPC, broken into

Thieves tar­get­ed two homes in a hous­ing de­vel­op­ment in Princes Town on Tues­day, in­clud­ing the res­i­dence of a po­lice of­fi­cer, mak­ing off with cash, am­mu­ni­tion and oth­er items.

The 46-year-old po­lice cor­po­ral left her home at Fair­field Hous­ing De­vel­op­ment around 6:40 am on Tues­day for work. When she re­turned around 6:50 pm she dis­cov­ered her home bro­ken in­to.

Her bed­room was ran­sacked, and her First Alert Safe con­tain­ing $40,000 and 10 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion miss­ing were miss­ing. A jew­el­ry box con­tain­ing a quan­ti­ty of gold jew­el­ry and a suit­case were al­so miss­ing. Po­lice said en­try was gained in­to her home by pry­ing open a door.

In the oth­er in­ci­dent, a 40-year-old teacher, left her home around 8 am for work. When she re­turned around 3:35pm she found her front door pried opened and ob­served her $3,200 Leno­vo Lap­top miss­ing. Princes Town po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
