The Elections and Boundaries Commission has completed the official recounts for the Darrel Spring Whim and Scarborough Mt Grace electoral districts in the 2026 Tobago House of Assembly elections.
The Commission advised that the recounts were conducted following requests submitted by People’s National Movement. The Commission said the overall results for both districts remain unchanged after the process.
In the Darrel Spring Whim district, Tobago People’s Party recorded 838 votes. People’s National Movement received 826 votes. Innovative Democratic Alliance polled 14 votes. Three ballots were rejected.
For the Scarborough Mt Grace district, Tobago People’s Party secured 854 votes. People’s National Movement recorded 702 votes. Innovative Democratic Alliance received 14 votes. Six ballots were rejected.
The Commission stated that these figures represent the final official vote counts for the two districts. It added that the recount process has now concluded for all districts where applications were made following the declaration of preliminary results.
According to the Commission, the recounts were carried out in accordance with the Representation of the People Act and related regulations governing Tobago House of Assembly elections. Election officials oversaw the verification of ballots and tallies in the presence of party representatives.
The Elections and Boundaries Commission noted that the completion of the recounts brings closure to the matters raised by People’s National Movement in relation to the two districts. No changes were recorded to the allocation of seats as previously announced.
The Commission said it will proceed with its remaining post-election duties, including the preparation of final reports related to the conduct of the 2026 Tobago House of Assembly elections.
