Three men were arrested by police minutes after they stole chocolate and fruit snacks from a goods truck in St Joseph on Monday.
Officers of the St Joseph CID and the St Joseph Warrants Section received a report of a robbery at the corner of the Eastern Main Road and the Southern Main Road, Curepe, where the men had taken items from a truck.
The suspects were seen getting into a blue Hyundai Elantra. Police issued an All Points Bulletin (APB) for the vehicle and intercepted it on Wellington Street, St Joseph, shortly after.
A search of the car revealed two boxes of Caramel Chocolate and a box of fruit snacks valued at approximately $2,020. Officers also found a cordless DeWalt grinder, a screwdriver, a powerbank and a folding knife.
When questioned about the items, the men failed to explain their origin.
The three men, aged 28, 41 and 59, were arrested and are expected to be questioned further.
