Police are trying to identify a man, believed to be a Venezuelan national, who was chopped and stabbed to death during an altercation in Diego Martin on Sunday morning.
Officers from the West End Police Station received a report around 6:30 am of a body in an apartment in Green Hill Village and went to the scene.
Investigators were told that four Venezuelan men lived in the two-storey building that housed the apartment where the body was found.
Reports are that an argument broke out among the men, and during the altercation, one of the men was attacked and sustained chop and stab wounds.
The attacker fled the scene and remained on the run up to 3 pm on Sunday.
A district medical officer later visited the location and pronounced the man dead.
Officers from the Region I Homicide Bureau are continuing enquiries.
