Phase 2 recovery operations now underway for Rig 110

Her­itage Pe­tro­le­um Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed says it is con­tin­u­ing to pro­vide co­or­di­na­tion sup­port to Well Ser­vices Pe­tro­le­um Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed as sal­vage and re­cov­ery op­er­a­tions for Rig 110 con­tin­ue.

The op­er­a­tions be­gan on No­vem­ber 8, 2025, and re­main on­go­ing.

Rig 110 par­tial­ly col­lapsed on De­cem­ber 22, 2024, re­sult­ing in the dis­ap­pear­ance of Pe­te Phillip.

Her­itage said the work is be­ing con­duct­ed in phas­es, with Phase One, the for­mal sal­vage com­po­nent, com­plet­ed on No­vem­ber 21, 2025.

The com­pa­ny said re­cov­ery op­er­a­tions, iden­ti­fied as Phase Two, are now un­der­way.

Her­itage said all reg­u­la­to­ry ap­provals have been se­cured, re­cov­ery equip­ment is in po­si­tion and safe­ty mon­i­tor­ing con­tin­ues. It not­ed that plans are in place to be­gin lift­ing the Rig 110 hull us­ing spe­cialised equip­ment with­in the com­ing days.

Her­itage said the search for Pe­te Phillip re­mains a pri­or­i­ty, al­though divers have so far been un­able to lo­cate his re­mains.

Her­itage said Phillip’s fam­i­ly con­tin­ues to re­ceive reg­u­lar up­dates.
