The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) says it has implemented precautionary measures to safeguard the nation following recent developments in the region.
The police service advised the public that it is closely monitoring the situation and has activated strategic operations to maintain safety and security. It stressed that these steps are precautionary and part of its ongoing commitment to national security.
“There is no need for public alarm as these measures are designed to ensure readiness, stability, and continuity of service should circumstances evolve,” the TTPS said.
Citizens were urged to remain calm, follow official channels for updates, and report any suspicious activity. The TTPS said public vigilance and responsible information sharing are key to national resilience.
Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro noted that the situation will be continuously reviewed and the public updated as needed. He added, “when your neighbour’s house on fire, the prudent thing is to wet yours.”
