Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar has in­sist­ed that maxi taxi op­er­a­tors have no jus­ti­fi­ca­tion for in­creas­ing fares, de­spite the Gov­ern­ment’s de­ci­sion to dou­ble the toll for use of the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route (PBR) from Jan­u­ary 1, 2026.
