Man killed in Gasparillo crash

A fam­i­ly is mourn­ing as the new year ap­proach­es fol­low­ing a fa­tal road traf­fic ac­ci­dent along the Sir Solomon Ho­choy High­way in Gas­par­il­lo ear­ly Sun­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said Eoin Kaz­im Pe­ters, 21, of Ar­joon­s­ingh Dri­ve, Dum­fries Road, La Ro­main, died af­ter he be­came pinned un­der a Kia H100 pick­up.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said that around 3 am, of­fi­cers re­ceived a re­port of a crash along the south­bound lane of the Sir Solomon Ho­choy High­way near the Gas­par­il­lo Over­pass.

At the scene, they found a white Kia H100 pick­up, reg­is­tra­tion TCN 8807, about 30 feet off the east­ern side of the road­way in near­by bush­es. The ve­hi­cle had flipped on­to its side near Fens Ware­house.

Fire of­fi­cers used the jaws of life to re­move Pe­ters’ body from be­neath the ve­hi­cle.

A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer lat­er vis­it­ed the scene, pro­nounced Pe­ters dead, and or­dered the re­moval of the body to the San Fer­nan­do Mor­tu­ary pend­ing a post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion.
