Vincentian soca artiste to face trial on allegedly assaulting teenage girls

A 35-year-old so­ca artiste from St Vin­cent and the Grenadines is sched­uled to re­turn to court on Jan­u­ary 13 next year, on charges of al­leged­ly in­de­cent­ly as­sault­ing two un­der­age girls.

The artiste, Grab­ba Fi­nesse, whose re­al name is Kei­th Charles, ap­peared at the Kingstown Mag­is­trate’s Court where the pros­e­cu­tors al­lege that he in­de­cent­ly as­sault­ed a 13-year-old girl by rub­bing her right thigh with his hands. He al­so was charged with in­de­cent­ly as­sault­ing a 15-year-old girl by rub­bing her right thigh with his hands.

Charles is al­leged to have com­mit­ted the of­fences be­tween Au­gust 29 and No­vem­ber 19, 2025. He plead­ed not guilty to both charges and was grant­ed com­pos­ite bail of EC$5,000 (One EC dol­lar=US$0.37 cents) with one sure­ty.

The mag­is­trate or­dered that the artiste must sur­ren­der his trav­el doc­u­ment and to ob­tain the court’s per­mis­sion to leave the coun­try. The mag­is­trate al­so or­dered that stop no­tices be post­ed at ports of en­try and ex­it, and that the ac­cused man re­port to the po­lice in Lay­ou twice week­ly.

The mat­ter has been trans­ferred to the Fam­i­ly Court for in-cam­era hear­ings. —KINGSTOWN, St. Vin­cent (CMC)
