Yellow weather alert issued for Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and To­ba­go is un­der a yel­low-lev­el ad­verse weath­er alert as scat­tered show­ers, per­sis­tent rain, and oc­ca­sion­al thun­der­storms con­tin­ue across the is­lands. The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice is­sued the warn­ing to­day at 9:36 am, ad­vis­ing res­i­dents to re­main vig­i­lant.

The alert, which be­gan at 3:00 am to­day and is ex­pect­ed to last un­til 4:00 pm, notes that gusty winds could ac­com­pa­ny the storms. Pos­si­ble im­pacts in­clude street and flash flood­ing in prone ar­eas, lo­calised pond­ing in low-ly­ing lo­ca­tions, and the risk of land­slips and land­slides.

Au­thor­i­ties are urg­ing the pub­lic to as­sess con­di­tions be­fore trav­el­ling, take nec­es­sary pre­cau­tions, and fol­low any in­struc­tions from gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials.
