Two people were arrested after officers seized cannabis valued at $750,000 during a State of Emergency operation in Sangre Grande on Sunday.
Police said officers executed a search warrant at a residence along Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande, where they discovered a quantity of cannabis weighing approximately 25.5 kilogrammes.
The cannabis was seized during the exercise.
Police said the estimated street value of the drugs is $750,000.
The two suspects who were present at the house at the time of the search were arrested for the offence of possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Both suspects were taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station where they remain in custody.
Police said the suspects are expected to be formally charged in connection with the seizure.
The operation was carried out by officers attached to the Eastern Division Task Force and the National Operations Task Force, with assistance from the K9 Unit.
The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Paponette and Inspectors Ramdeen and Harper.
Sergeant Rampersad supervised the operation.
Police said the exercise formed part of ongoing State of Emergency operations conducted across divisions.
The TTPS has continued operations targeting illegal firearms, ammunition and drugs.
Police said the operation was conducted on Sunday 15 March, 2026.
