Police have charged a 52-year-old woman and her 46-year-old boyfriend with the murder of her sister.
Radica Resaulsingh, of Southern Main Road, Plaisance Park, Pointe-a-Pierre and Marlon Mc Kain of Farouk Lane, El Socorro were arrested on June 16 and were charged with murdering Geeta Newman, 53, on Thursday after advice was received from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard SC.
In a statement, the police said Newman was last seen on June 15 with Resaulsingh. On June 16, police went to Newman’s home in Pointe-a-Pierre which she shared with Resaulsingh.
It is alleged the suspects told police that Newman had left for Penal the night before to see her daughter. The house was searched and Newman’s body was found in a bedroom in Resaulsingh’s section of the house.
An autopsy revealed Newman died because of blunt force trauma and asphyxia.
