THe repairs will take place along the Western Main Road, Cocorite, near West Shore Medical Private Hospital.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), in a press release on Thursday, said work will start from 7 pm on Saturday and should be completed by Sunday midday.

After the repairs are finished, WASA said it may take another 12 hours for the water supply to become normal in some affected areas.

Though the work was urgent, Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan criticised WASA for failing to send out notices of impending disruptions.

He apologised to drivers and promised to improve communication to avoid any inconvenience.

During this weekend’s upcoming work, drivers heading west will be diverted onto the eastbound lane from approximately 100m east of the walkover at the Community Hospital. From there they will go west on the eastbound lane to the opening in front of Powder Magazine, and then back onto the westbound lane.

Drivers who normally use the opening at Powder Magazine will be required to head north to Diego Martin Main Road, up to the Four Roads intersection and onwards to their destination. from traffic control officers in the area of the work site.

It also said provisions will be made for access to local traffic within the restricted area.
