Two Montserrat Ministers Fired


CaribWorldNews, BRADES, Montserrat, Tues. June 16, 2009: Two ministers from the current Lowell Lewis government in Montserrat have been fired.

Chief Minister, Dr. Lewis, reportedly fired Economic Development and Agriculture Minister Reuben Meade and Education and Health Minister Roslyn Cassell-Sealy yesterday.

The dismissals come two days after Lewis asked the Governor of the British Overseas Territory to dissolve the Legislative Council and pave the way for fresh general elections on September 8.

Lewis enjoys a 6-3 advantage in the government.
