TSTT (Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago) has said in a release that all services have been fully restored after Wednesday morning’s network interruption, which affected landline, internet and mobile services to customers in parts of the country.
In a recording attached to the release, CEO Lisa Agard apologised for the disruption and its impact on customers.
“To demonstrate our regret, we have decided that all customers will be given free data until midnight.”
She explained, “The disruption was triggered by an unexpected circumstance which regrettably persisted until 11 am.”
Agard said this incident was an isolated occurence which should not have happened because of several backup plans in place.
Internal engineers and engineers from TSTT’s vendors were dispatched to isolate and fix the problem.
TSTT and Agard also thanked customers for their patience during the restoration .
The network crash on Wednesday morning also affected work at licensing offices, Caribbean Airlines and the National Insurance Board.
