Trini in court fight for Canadian-born son

A HEATED legal battle over a two-year-old child is brewing in the Canadian courts between a south Trinidad woman, who believes she was duped into marriage only to give birth to a child in Canada, then tricked into accepting a ticket back home. Today is the hearing in Place De Justice High Court, Quebec, of what has been a long-running battle, since 2013, for parental custody of little Sanjay Gocool, but sadly, the child’s mother, 42-year-old Radica Ramjassingh of Quarry Village, Siparia, will not be present in court.
