The feteing start


THE Christmas season isn’t officially over but, with the turn of the new year, the Carnival atmosphere is already in full swing with fetes all over the country. On Sunday (New Years Day), the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation (TUCO), hosted their third annual Start de Carnival Cooler Fete at the Grand Stand, Queens Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain. The event which is somewhat out of the norm for the organisation, will now become a regular feature on their calendar of events. Former Public Relations Officer, Karega Mandela, said “We are diversifying TUCO so that it won’t be just about singing in tents for the Carnival.” Performing on the night were the T&T Prisons Band and Dil-E-Nadan among others.
