‘Sweeter-Man’ appears in court charged with murder

A Mt Hope man has ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court charged with the mur­der of Don­ny Dick, which oc­curred on Ju­ly 14th, 2024.

Ja­fari Fer­nan­dez, al­so known as ‘Sweet­er-Man’, 20, was al­so charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Re­han­na Ho­sein on June 4th, 2025.

A suf­fi­cien­cy hear­ing has been set for No­vem­ber 24th, 2025.

Dick, 44, was found dead on Ju­ly 17th, 2024, at Up­per Irv­ing Street, Pe­tit Bourg, San Juan.

A male sus­pect was ar­rest­ed on May 28th, 2025, in the San Juan dis­trict.

Charges were laid fol­low­ing ad­vice from the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions.
