Priority Bus Route Pass recall begins to take shape

The Min­istry of Trans­port and Civ­il Avi­a­tion has re­called all Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route (PBR) Let­ter Per­mits num­bered 0001 through 0645, ren­der­ing them in­valid from Ju­ly 1, 2025, as part of an ef­fort to re­form and stream­line the per­mit sys­tem.

The re­call af­fects in­di­vid­ual and cor­po­rate per­mit hold­ers who will now be re­quired to sub­mit new ap­pli­ca­tions un­der an up­dat­ed process an­nounced by the Min­istry on Tues­day. Ac­cord­ing to the of­fi­cial no­tice, the move is part of “on­go­ing ef­forts to en­hance the trans­paren­cy, com­pli­ance, and over­all ef­fi­cien­cy of the PBR Per­mit sys­tem.”

The Min­istry has in­vit­ed af­fect­ed per­mit hold­ers to re­turn their doc­u­ments ei­ther in per­son or via recog­nised couri­er to the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route Unit at its Rich­mond Street head of­fice in Port of Spain. New ap­pli­ca­tions must in­clude per­son­al and ve­hi­cle in­for­ma­tion, along with sup­port­ing doc­u­ments such as a valid dri­ver’s li­cence, cer­ti­fied copy of the ve­hi­cle, and proof of in­sur­ance.
