Mother killed, daughter injured in Penal road accident

A 62-year-old woman was killed and her daugh­ter in­jured af­ter a van struck them while they crossed the road in Pe­nal on Mon­day night.

Pol­ly Ram­per­sad died at the scene. Her daugh­ter, 38-year-old Crys­tal Ram­per­sad, re­mains in a sta­ble con­di­tion at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

The two were walk­ing along Pe­nal Rock Road when they at­tempt­ed to cross near Shirnar­ine Trace.
